COURSE DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE

- Familiarizing students of Southeast Asia region in term of political and economic geography, the emergence and establishment as well as development of ASEAN.
- Discussing the roles and functions of ASEAN, impact on ASEAN of regional politics and economy, as well as regional skills and labour trends.
- Discussing the progress, challenges, and prospects of regional economic integration.
- Enhancing the students' knowledge in areas of regional dispute settlement system, particularly business-related issues.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

- Gain conceptual and empirical understanding of the dynamic process of the Southeast Asian Politics and Economy
2. Understand knowledge and theories connected with education
and professions for professional education programs.
- Achieve contextual and theoretical understanding of emerging issues in Southeast Asian Politics and Economy
3. Understand the last important progress of special skills in
one’s study field including analyzing knowledge of researches at present
involving the resolutions which happen and the improvement of knowledge.
- Locate Southeast Asian politics and economy within the global context and to view comparatively with other regions of the world.
B. Cognitive Skills
1. Can observe, understand, and evaluate the information, ideas,
and new evidences from various sources and supposing on the events and the
problems happening with the requirement of some introduction.
- Acquire necessary thinking skills towards the regional political, economic, social, and cultural differences which may impact business, work, and living manners in case the students wish to live and work in any of the ASEAN countries.
2. Can observe the complicated problems, consult, and create the
new resolutions by using knowledge and experiences in one’s skill.
- Solve business and working problems base on mutual and regional understanding, owing to the principle of “one identity, one destiny”
3. Can carry those skills and knowledge to use in professions
and general education involving the study of one’s skill. Whereas professional
education, students can use the general appropriate procedures, but they have
to clearly define the situation that needs the creation of new resolutions. All
of these need response and are created theoretically and practically.
